Total Marine Solutions (TMS) announced that it has successfully completed its Systems and Organizational Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 examination. SOC 2 reports focus on a Service Organization’s internal controls designed to meet its service commitments and system requirements based on the Security, Availability, Confidentiality, Processing Integrity, and Privacy criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). TMS completed its SOC 2 Type 1 examination in July 2022.
In completing these examinations, TMS maintains its adherence to one of the most stringent, industry-accepted compliance frameworks for service organizations and provides additional assurance to its clients, through an independent auditor, that its business process, information technology and risk management controls are properly designed and operating as intended.
“Our high-quality environmental tools and solutions provide not only innovative support for a company’s culture of compliance, but also meet stringent industry best practices and guidelines for cyber security and risk management,” said Alexandra Anagnostis-Irons, president of TMS.
The official auditors’ report provides a thorough review of TMS’ internal controls, policies, and processes for its digital solutions, such as Ocean Guardian and TMS Datawarehouse. It also reviews TMS’ processes relating to risk management and subservice (vendor) due diligence, as well as TMS’ entire IT infrastructure, software development life cycle, change management, logical security, network security, physical & environmental security, and computer operations.
“This SOC 2 report shows that we have appropriate controls in place to mitigate risks related to our tools and solutions,” noted Anagnostis-Irons. “We took this step to further prove to our clients our commitment to their long-term well-being and success.”
The examination was conducted by Dansa D’Arata Soucia LLP. A successful SOC 2 Type 1 examination report was issued by Dansa D’Arata Soucia LLP to TMS in July 2022.
